Home Theater systems video inputs – Home Theater systems

why does home theater systems have video inputs/outputs when it is for sound?
is it so when u change ur source like from fm radio to lets say tv u dont need 2 remotes to do so the receiver will change it for you?when u change the receiver source does it auto change ur tv sources?

You can have multiple sources with video coming into the A/V receiver such as cable/satellite, a DVD player, a VCR, a gaming system. You only have to hook up one TV or video monitor, as when you switch between the different sources whichever one you select is sent to the screen. Sometimes it is even possible to select audio and video source monitoring separately. So you could do something like have the picture coming in from the cable or satellite, while still listening to the music from your favorite album or radio broadcast.

Home Theater entertainment center – Home Theater

Did you create a fancy home entertainment/theater center just for watching hockey?
You use it to watch movies too, but the reason you made it was to watch hockey. Is this true?
I only have a TV. But I’ve seen people make pretty sweet home theaters just for hockey.
LITY, can I come over to your place?

I have a 60+ inch plasma TV with an HD box (courtesy of the fine people at Rogers), and a 7.1 Surround Sound system………………..just to watch hockey.

My grand-daughter wanted to watch Barney once, but aside from that (and maybe a Disney movie or two) only hockey’s been on it.

thanks!!
i actually have the Sony system at home but I am considering whether or not I should use the Sony or buy the logitech speakers

the sony is probably less money than the Logitech and has more features and capabilities, but the specs and reviews give the edge to logitech.
Final analysis, if you are only looking for speakers – Logitech.

Sony home theater 340k – Sony home theater

How do I connect my Sony Home Theater system to the Internet through my Laptop?
I just bought a Sony Blu-Ray Disc/DVD Home Theater System “BDV-E370″ and before I purchased it I didn’t realize that I the internet adapter came separate. So what I want to do is connect my Home Theater System to my wireless laptop by using a Ethernet cable. I already bridged the connections but the Home Theater system recognizes the connection but won’t connect to the internet. How do I fix that?

There is such a thing as “bridging connections.” This process will vary slightly depending on your operating system, but here are a couple videos on how to do it.

Windows 7:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwvUcXUXfk8

Windows Vista:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFCBC24C1cA

Windows XP:

(same process, just without the PS2)

Edit:
Won’t connect to the internet you say? Is the laptop itself able to access the internet? Generally if the connections are bridged correctly you should not have to worry about anything else… I would try re bridging the connections, maybe something went wrong?

Home Theater systems for cheap – Home Theater systems

What wireless home theater systems should I buy?
I am in search of wireless home theater systems for my living room. Frankly I dont know much about wireless home theater systems so I was hoping that some genius in here could help me out finding some kind of wireless home theater systems with good sound.

My budget for the wireless home theater systems that you find is around 400$.

So what wireless home theater systems will you recommend me to buy and why?

thank everyone!

I will recommend between two wireless home theater systems. Both are very good so it is up to you which one you like the best.

The first one is the Yamaha NS-SP1800BL. You get great value for your money with this system as it has amazing sound, nothing less.

The second one is the Sony HT-SS370. These speakers are so fantastic that its unbelievable. They have incredible sound, they look really cool and the design is very beautiful which I believe is important to wireless home theater systems.

You can check both out by searching on their names, good luck!!

***************

I found links to both of them. They are so much cheaper than I bought them a couple of months ago. So I guess you are lucky, but check them out in the links below and see which one you feel is the best one for you..

Wireless home theater amplifier – Wireless home theater

what is the procedure of installation of home theatre system in a seminar room?
-a set amplifier
-5 speakers
-2 microphone (with wire)
-2 microphone (wireless)
-a set of DVD player
-a set of Plasma TV
-a set of Video (VHF)

Amirah – You really need to add a MIXER to your equipment list. The microphones will not be able to connect to a home theater amp if that is what you have. I don’t know what a “set amplifier” is.

If you give me make and model number on each piece of equipment, I can help more. I design and install commercial sound systems in classrooms. If you want to contact me, click on “Daniel K”.

Home Theater systems va – Home Theater systems

Does it bother you that the VA took land that was donated for Homeless Vets and leased it to golf course?
a private school, businesses, a theater, etc?

“Los Angeles (CNN) — The connection seems obvious: nearly 400 acres of land set aside to house veterans and thousands of veterans who need a place to call home.

But Los Angeles’ estimated 8,000 homeless vets have been barred from living at the sprawling campus for decades. The West Los Angeles property — some of the most valuable in the nation — was donated in 1888 to “establish, construct and permanently maintain” a branch of a national home for veterans, according to the original deed.

And for nearly a century, that’s what happened: permanent veterans facilities sprang up, including a post office, a trolley system and housing for as many as 4,000 vets, said American Civil Liberties Union lawyer Mark Rosenbaum.

But “beginning with the Vietnam War era, vets were kicked out,” said Rosenbaum, who’s leading a class-action suit over the property against the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Now, a generation after Vietnam, the facility’s abandoned buildings are off limits to the veterans they were intended to serve.

“It’s a shame,” said Carolina Barrie, a descendant of the heiress who donated the land. Veterans should be “given every single opportunity to rehab their lives — and if they have no place to live, a place to live.”

The VA saw fit to lease parts of the property to several businesses. In September, the VA canceled three leases after rising criticism. But other entities remain on the property including a public golf course, a college baseball stadium, a theater and practice fields for the exclusive private Brentwood School.”

Pretty sick we need to dig deeper and I am contacting Sen. Cochran Monday, maybe it will do some good but sadly he has the second highest amount donated to him $5.5 million and Reid has $6 million. If the lobbyists have anything to do with it it will be hard to change as they donated $3.5 billion * to the House and Senate last year. The reason McCain, Kerry, Reid and Biden jumped on the TP was due to not wanting to lose that gravy train.

As you can see below McCain has taken almost half a billion, Kerry almost $400 million, Reid’s kids work for lobbyists and Joe’ son has his own company.

You would not believe the care in the Jackson MS VA, I mean what do you expect, eeoc, aa and union. those people need the space and should have it all around the country and also top notch medical care not second class type. It’s just sad. Oh well welcome back and have a great 2011! Long time no ‘sea”.

Home Theater 4 front speakers – Home Theater

Is it ok to use a 6 speaker home theater with only 4 speakers connected to the system?
I just want to use my home theatre at least with four speakers (front-left, front-right, center, and sub-wofer) until i find the time to run the cables across the room to connect the other speakers (rear-left, rear-right).

Yes it is fine, only you obviously wont have any surround effects.

What you have to do is go into the receivers menu and disable all the speakers except for the ones you are using. The system probabily defaults to all five speakers, so you will have to manually disable them. Doing this will mix the sound in a way that you will not lose anything.

Some systems, however, like HTIBs, will not have this option because they expect you to connect all the speakers that came in the box. If that is the case, then I would advise leaving the system in stereo mode, which will only send sound to the front two and subwoofer. If you system does not have a stereo mode, then you may lose sound effects in movies and shows you watch. A way to get around this is the connect the system with RCAs (no Optical or Digital Coax), so the system will not receive surround sound.
